For campervan, motorhome & caravan rental fleets

Your van is gone for two weeks. Know how it's doing.

Put a free connectivity device in every camper you own. See which vans are out, where they are and how they're holding up — and give the renter the same view on their phone, so the questions and the arguments both get smaller.

What you're actually renting out

Two weeks of someone's summer, parked somewhere you've never been.

How it works

Three pieces. One system.

One device in the van, one dashboard for your team, and an app for whoever is driving it this fortnight.

  1. coride IoT connectivity device

    In the van

A device we give you at no cost

It brings its own SIM and cellular data, and reads position, odometer, fuel level, battery voltage, temperature and error codes. OBD II on a motorhome, hardwired on a caravan.

  2. coride fleet board: nine campers with out, due back, ready and needs-attention states

    In your office

One board for every camper you own

Out, due back, ready, needs attention — with the renter's name, the kilometres on the clock and the fuel level against each van.

  3. The coride app showing one camper's battery, fuel and a message thread to the depot

    In your renter's pocket

The coride app, on their phone

They see their own van and nothing else: position, fuel, battery, the trip so far, the documents, and a message thread straight back to you.

The device, the SIM and the cellular data cost you nothing. You pay per connected camper per month, and for the web app your team uses.

What it does

Four jobs, off your desk.

Everything here works on a camper today. What it will not do is take the booking — that stays with whatever you already run.

Handover checks & condition record

The argument at the end is about the start.

Build the handover check once, assign it to every camper, and have whoever runs the keys work through it on a phone. It saves into that van's logbook with their name on it, so six weeks later there is a record instead of a memory.

  • Your own checkpoints, per van or per model
  • Signed off with the name of whoever completed it, plus free-text notes
  • Filed in the logbook and searchable by filter
  • The same list on return, so the two ends compare
The same handover checklist at collection and on return, side by side, with two findings flagged and the odometer, fuel and allowance compared

Live watch & alerts

You are not watching a map all day.

Set the handful of things that matter and let them come to you: the van leaving the area the contract allows, the leisure battery sinking at a pitch, a tilt that looks like it is being towed, the fridge going warm.

  • Geofence enter and leave, and distance from where it was parked
  • Battery voltage and level, fuel level, temperature
  • Towing and tilt detection, and device-disconnected
  • Low, high, or a push notification on your phone — your call, per rule
Live map of Europe with the permitted travel area drawn, seven campers inside it and one outside raising an alert

Trip record, km and fuel

Every journey logs itself.

Read the route, the kilometres from the van's own odometer, the fuel level it came back on and every alert that fired while it was away — one screen, before you talk about the deposit.

  • Odometer straight off OBD II, not estimated from GPS
  • Fuel level, litres consumed and refuelling events detected automatically
  • The full track, with the events that fired placed on it
  • Download the data if it has to go to an insurer
One completed hire: the logged route through the Alps, kilometres from the odometer, diesel used and every event that fired on the way

Usage per van

Which vans earn and which ones sit.

Days out and kilometres per camper across the season, most and least used side by side, and servicing that comes due on the real distance driven rather than a date in a spreadsheet.

  • Kilometres and time out, per van and per period
  • Most and least used vans, ranked
  • Maintenance plans that trigger on real usage
  • Export for the accountant
Season usage per camper: days out, utilisation ranked most to least, kilometres and the next service due by distance driven

Both sides

One thing goes wrong. You both see it.

Day nine, a pitch outside Siena. The leisure battery has been falling since morning. The same alert reaches two screens.

Your side

The van, the renter and the history

The reading, how long it has been falling, and where the van is — with the message thread to reach them without hunting for a phone number.

coride dashboard: a leisure-battery alert for CAM-02 with a 12-hour voltage chart and the message thread to the renter

Their side

A notification, and one tap to reply

What happened, what it means and what to do about it. They fix it themselves, or you agree what happens next. Either way nobody finds out at the handover.

The coride app on a phone: the camper's own photo at the top, the leisure-battery alert, where the van is on the map, the kilometres included, and no-track mode

This is also the answer to the question your renters do not ask out loud. They can see exactly what you can see, which turns a tracker into a service. And if they want the location off, no-track mode switches recording off and turns itself back on 24 hours later.

Straight talk

It is not a booking system. There is no availability calendar, no payments and no customer checkout, and we would rather you knew that now. Keep whatever you already run for the reservation — this is the vehicle underneath it, from the moment the keys change hands.

Also included

The rest of it.

The things you would otherwise keep in a folder, a spreadsheet and your head.

  • Documents per van

Registration, insurance, service history and the hire agreement, on the vehicle rather than in a folder somewhere.

  • Item rental

Bike racks, awnings, bedding sets and gas bottles tracked as their own rentable items.

  • Winter storage

Hibernation mode for the vans that are off the road, so a parked fleet stops generating noise.

  • Turnaround prep

Vehicle preparation as a tracked job, so a van is not handed over half-ready.

  • Error codes

Engine faults, coolant and oil temperature read straight off OBD II, before they become a recovery call.

  • Support threads

Tickets that carry the van's context, so nobody has to ask which vehicle this is about.

  • Your team

Shifts, availability and tasks for whoever is on the forecourt.

  • Access you control

Grant a renter access to one van, revoke it when the keys come back.

  • Your own numbers

Fuel cost, fixed cost per day and revenue in one cost-and-revenue view.

  • Data out

Download any period as data, for the accountant or the insurer.

  • Live cockpit

The moving view of one van: speed, position and what the engine is reporting right now.

  • Maintenance plans

Service intervals that count real kilometres rather than dates in a spreadsheet.

Where we stand

Campers are new for us. Fleets are not. We are not going to show you a camper case study we do not have. The same platform, the same dashboard and the same device run boat-rental fleets and a lake-rescue service today, and manufacturers ship it as their own app. Campers are a new vehicle on it — worth knowing before you decide.

Before you ask

The questions we get first.

Is this a booking system?

No. There is no availability calendar, no payments and no customer checkout, and none is planned for this release. Keep the booking tool you have — this is the vehicle side: where each camper is, what condition it is in, what happened while it was away and what it cost you. If booking ships later it becomes a fifth capability here, not a replacement for your reservation system.

Can my renter see that the van is tracked — and turn it off?

Yes to both, deliberately. The renter gets the coride app for their own van and sees the same position, fuel and battery you see, so nothing is happening behind their back. No-track mode switches location recording off when they ask for it, and turns itself back on automatically 24 hours later.

Is there a camper vehicle type?

Not a purpose-built one yet. Campers run as a generic vehicle, which is fully supported everywhere in the dashboard — the menu says “Vehicles” rather than “Campers”. Everything on this page works today; the labelling is the part that is still generic.

Does it read the fresh-water, waste-water or gas level?

No. Tank monitoring covers the fuel tank — calibrated from the vehicle's own sender, or read over OBD II. Habitation tanks are not a supported sensor type, and we would rather say so than let you find out after installation. Four digital inputs and two analogue inputs are available if you want to wire something yourself.

What about caravans and trailers with no engine?

They work, with less data. No OBD II means no odometer, no fuel level and no engine diagnostics — you get position, movement, tilt and tow detection, battery voltage and temperature, on a hardwired device. That is usually the theft-and-location case rather than the condition case.

What happens if a camper is stolen?

Movement away from where it was parked, tow and tilt detection, geofence exit and device-disconnected are all alert rules you can set, and any of them can push to your phone. The trip record keeps the track. It is a recovery aid, not a recovery service — there is no immobiliser and we do not call the police for you.

Can I see what each van earns?

You can see what each van does — kilometres, days out, number of trips, most and least used. The cost and revenue view adds fuel cost, fixed cost per day and a revenue figure, but its revenue input is a per-hour rate, so a daily hire rate has to be entered as its hourly equivalent. Utilisation is the number to trust today.

Do I need an installer?

No. The device is free, brings its own SIM and data, and goes into the OBD II port on a motorhome or campervan. Caravans and older conversions without OBD II are hardwired instead, which is a twenty-minute job rather than a workshop visit.

What does it cost to try?

Fourteen days of the full dashboard, free, with a demo vehicle so there is something to click. Then CHF 10 per connected camper per month and CHF 49 for the web app. No device cost at any point.

Not a rental company?

Do you build or convert campers? If you convert vans or build motorhomes and want your own branded owner app, dealer tools and a model library for your network, that's a different product — the c.technology OEM suite.
